One of the first things he does is reassure them that radiation therapy is highly effective and that the field has advanced significantly over the years since radiation treatment first began. He also reminds patients that radiation treatment is part of a larger multidisciplinary approach, and that cancer care is a team sport where every member of the care team has an important role to play.
