Care at Siteman in St. Charles County
Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital has operated on the campus of Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital since August 2005. We make it easier for patients living in St. Charles County and beyond to receive world-class cancer care close to home.
Our free-standing, 37,000 square foot building, located just south of the hospital, offers a full range of adult cancer services, including chemotherapy/infusion, radiation therapy, and support programs. We also provide a wide range of amenities, including portable DVD players, library books, and art supplies, so patients can make the most of their time with us.
The WashU Medicine medical oncologists, radiation oncologists and surgeons at Siteman in St. Charles County also work at Siteman’s main campus in St. Louis and collaborate regularly. These doctors practice multidisciplinary care, coordinating schedules with their colleagues so patients can see multiple physicians in one trip and have their entire treatment plan determined in one visit.
Our staff includes registered nurses with specialized training in caring for cancer patients. A research coordinator is also available to talk with patients about possible participation in clinical trials, which provide access to new medications and treatments not available at most cancer centers.
Patients who come to our St. Charles location can also take advantage of a wide range of support services and therapies aimed at helping them feel their best as they undergo treatment for cancer. Some of our programs include Therapeutic Horticulture with the Missouri Botanical Gardens, Pet Therapy with therapy dogs, massage therapy, and virtual programs and services like gentle yoga. We also have trained social workers on staff who can help patients with specific problems at home or at work that might arise during treatment.
At Siteman at Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital, parking is free and easy to find. There is a large lot directly outside our door, and it usually isn’t difficult to locate a space.
Patients and guests who would rather not walk to and from the building can be dropped off in the covered space at the entrance to the facility.
We have wheelchairs available for patients or visitors who need extra assistance. Feel free to borrow one from the entryway of the building.
Our facility offers a wide range of treatments and services, including:
- On-site registration
- On-site lab testing
- Retail pharmacy
- 16 medical oncology exam rooms
- 28 chemotherapy infusion bays and four private infusion rooms
- A CT simulator for radiation therapy treatment planning
- Seven radiation oncology exam rooms
- Two state-of-the-art linear accelerators with a wide range of treatment capabilities including stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT), gating, and deep-inspiration breath hold (DIBH), which deliver precisely targeted radiation to tumors in the body
- Brachytherapy treatment for prostate cancer
- Oncology data management software that provides a paperless system for registration, scheduling, billing, lab reporting, order entry and charting
- Scalp cooling
Siteman Cancer Center chemotherapy infusion services are provided by Barnes-Jewish Hospital at all Missouri locations.
