Care at Siteman in Illinois
Siteman Cancer Center at Memorial Hospital Shiloh campus in Shiloh, IL, opened Jan. 13, 2020. Memorial Hospital Shiloh and WashU Medicine physicians in Illinois Inc., jointly operate the new Siteman facility.
The WashU Medicine medical oncologists, radiation oncologists and surgeons at Siteman in Illiniois also work at Siteman’s main campus in St. Louis and collaborate regularly. These doctors practice multidisciplinary care, coordinating schedules with their colleagues so patients can see multiple physicians in one trip and have their entire treatment plan determined in one visit.
Our Illinois care team includes registered nurses with specialized training in caring for cancer patients. A research coordinator is also available to talk with patients about possible participation in clinical trials, which provide access to new medications and treatments not available at most cancer centers.
Parking is readily available outside the facility. You should be able to locate a parking space without much difficulty.
If you or a loved one requires the use of a wheelchair for your visit, please don’t hesitate to borrow one. They may be found just off the main lobby of the facility.

Siteman Cancer Center chemotherapy infusion services are provided by Barnes-Jewish Hospital at all Missouri locations and by Memorial Hospital at Illinois locations.

Having a Siteman Cancer Center satellite in Illinois offers residents more convenient access to specialized care at what is widely recognized as one of the top research-based cancer centers in the nation. WashU Medicine scientists and physicians at Siteman are recipients of $185 million in cancer research grants.
The research they conduct, whether in a lab or through clinical trials, can inform the diagnosis and treatment of patients in Illinois, Missouri and beyond. Siteman also conducts more than 700 clinical trials evaluating investigational therapies, including many in collaboration with other leading U.S. cancer centers.
Patients at Siteman in Illinois will have access to these trials. Siteman’s parent institutions, Barnes-Jewish Hospital and WashU Medicine, also are nationally recognized by U.S. News & World Report, which consistently ranks them, and Siteman, among the best institutions of their kind in the nation.
In addition to having convenient access to highly specialized cancer care, patients in and/or residents of southern and central Illinois benefit from:
- Streamlined genomic and genetic testing to help identify the cause of a patient’s cancer, and more personalized, targeted treatments based on his or her disease.
- Continuous improvements to patient care, based on new guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of cancer, which are updated regularly. Examples include how nurses and radiation therapists are trained to care for oncology patients, and implementing new survivorship and cancer screening recommendations.
- Implementation of cancer prevention strategies, such as the use of interactive tools, e-books, videos, individual coaching and online cancer risk assessment tools.
