Computational Cancer Genomics

For undergraduate or masters students who have strong computational and/or statistical skills and are interested in applying them to cancer research. No biological expertise is necessary.

Center for Innovation in Cancer Research Training (CICRT) Internship

Funded by the American Cancer Society, undergraduate students take part in a 10-week summer internship in cancer research along with career development and networking activities throughout the academic year. Siteman’s CICRT Internship will begin in 2027.

Students Transforming Academic Research in Science (STARS) Summer Scholars Program

An eight-week, residential summer research program for WashU sophomores interested in scientific research.

Focused on providing a rich research training experience to MD or MD/PhD trainees who seek a serious in-depth research experience following their clinical training in pathology, as well as PhD or MD/PhD fellows not associated with pathology clinical training, who have an interest in pathology research.

Siteman American Cancer Society Institutional Research Grant (ACS-IRG) Pilot Awards

Pilot grants for up to four investigators up to a maximum of $40,000 for one year (non-renewable).

Siteman Investment Program Research Development Awards (SIP RDAs)

Specialized Programs of Research Excellence (SPOREs) – Career Enhancement Programs (CEPs)

Endometrial Cancer CEP: Supports early career and established investigators in translational endometrial cancer research, building upon existing productive collaborations at Washington University, University of New Mexico, and University of Oklahoma. 

Leukemia CEP: Supports investigators in the field of translational leukemia research by providing financial support and mentored research training, leveraging institutional strengths to recruit basic scientists and clinical investigators from varied disciplines and backgrounds.

Pancreatic Cancer CEP: Enhances pancreatic cancer research by providing financial support and mentoring for investigators who are new to the field to help build translational research careers in pancreatic cancer.
