5 minsEmily Podany, MD, Medical Oncologist from Siteman Cancer Center, discusses how breast cancer is a completely different disease today than it was 10 to 20 years ago. Treatments have evolved significantly, changing the way breast cancer is diagnosed and treated. Advancements in breast cancer care are happening rapidly, with new developments, new drugs, and new opportunities emerging every six months, including less intensive therapies than were available even five years ago. She also shares how more and more tests are being developed to help determine exactly which treatments will work best for each patient’s cancer, as well as how long treatment may be needed. All of these advancements are coming together to create a more personalized approach to breast cancer care than ever before.
