Research Interest

My research interests are deciphering the regulatory mechanisms underlying cell fate decision and lineage specification with the ultimate goal of modulating lineage output for therapeutic purpose in the hematopoietic system. Specifically, I’m interested in how myeloid versus erythroid lineage choices are made in hematopoietic stem cell (HSC) and multipotent progenitor (MPP) populations in myeloid malignancies and aging conditions. I aim to find fundamental mechanisms, which are deregulated in a broad range of pathological conditions, so I can contribute to develop additional treatment options for unmet need independent of disease-causing mutations.
