Research Interest

My research interests include cancer virology, cancer genomics, and cancer proteomics. I have a deep understanding of various omics data types, including DNA-Seq, RNA-Seq, scRNA-Seq, and mass spectrometry data. I have led the development of multiple bioinformatics tools and pipelines, such as VirusScan for virus detection from NGS data, Misplice tool for detecting splice-site-creating mutations, somaticwrapper and germlinewrapper pipelines for calling somatic and germline variants, and among others. My long-term goal is to discover rational therapeutic targets that meaningfully impact the lives of cancer patients. For instance, by working with CPTAC members, I uncovered high PTPN11 Y62 phosphorylation in EGFR-altered brain and lung tumors.
