Research Interest
I am a cell biologist interested in how organelles are formed and regulated. My lab focuses on the centrosome, a conserved eukaryotic organelle involved in cell division, signaling, and motility. Defects in centrosomes are linked to a wide variety of disease states, including cancer, microcephaly, and ciliopathies. Current projects in the lab focus on how centrosomes are forms from component parts and how their structure and function are precisely regulated in cells. We use cutting-edge cell biological, biochemical, and biophysical techniques, including gene editing and super-resolution microscopy, to address these questions.
