Research Opportunities

SIP Supplement

The Siteman Investment Program (SIP) Research Development Award (RDA) is designed to award pilot funding to faculty investigators to support pioneering cancer research and produce data to leverage further external peer reviewed funding. PECaD supports the SIP COE Supplement Mechanism, which awards up to $50,000 over 1 year to support research focused on health equity and cancer disparities. Researchers who are interested in applying for SIP funding are encouraged to reach out to Dr. Sarah Chavez for support and assistance.

Pitch partners

At Pitch Partners, community members, organizations and faculty are invited to “pitch” health-related projects to an audience to identify potential partners and receive critical feedback. The primary goals of Pitch Partners are to facilitate better communication among academic researchers, community stakeholders and members about best practices for research, and to share information about current WashU community initiatives and research. Pitch Partners is open to researchers exploring current community projects in need of an investigator, or community representatives looking for opportunities to engage in research.

PRAB

The St. Louis Patient Research Advisory Board was founded by and consists of CRFT program alumni who have completed a 15-week training program on research methods and are certified to conduct research with human subjects by the Human Research Protections Office at WashU Medicine. The PRAB is designed to help investigators with community-engaged or community-based research proposals/projects by having community members review proposals and give feedback.
