RFP Snapshot: The WUSTL Center for Drug Discovery offer the CDD Match Grant15 and Grant25 programs.
Match Grant15 is to advance translational small-molecule drug discovery research at Washington University. CDD offers a full suite of preclinical drug discovery services and know-how. Capabilities range from drug lead finding utilizing the High Throughput Screening Core to Medicinal Chemistry-driven drug lead optimization, ADME profiling, and in vivopharmacokinetics for proof-of-concept in vivo pharmacology studies, intellectual property (patent) filing, and drug development.
Match Grant25 is a follow-on award program meant only for those investigators who have successfully completed and met the objectives of a Match Grant15 (or the original CDD MicroGrant) award and request additional match funds to further advance the discovery research project. CDD offers a full suite of preclinical drug discovery services and know-how. Capabilities range from drug lead finding utilizing the High Throughput Screening Core to Medicinal Chemistry-driven drug lead optimization, ADME profiling, and in vivo pharmacokinetics for proof-of-concept in vivo pharmacology studies, intellectual property (patent) filing, and drug development.

RFP Snapshot: The purpose of the awards is to advance initial discovery pilots for Precision Health ICTS investigators. Proposals are not for developed projects but are to fund developmental or early stage work, including pilot data collection and analysis, in preparation for submission of future external funding.

RFP Snapshot: The Just-In-Time (JIT) Core Usage Funding Program is designed to provide quick access to funding to use any of the JIT Cores (pdf) for research advancing medical knowledge that can improve human health. Siteman Cancer Center will co-sponsor cancer-focused proposals.

RFP Snapshot: The intent of the EDS Accelerator Award is to support the commercialization of an ongoing cancer research project and to validate and de-risk technologies. Proposals should address key experiments required to move findings toward commercialization, that do not easily fit into traditional funding mechanisms. This mechanism is not designed to initiate new projects or develop new directions for an ongoing project. The proposal should be commercially driven with the PI having a plan to license the technology, either to an established company or a start-up if the experiment(s) are successful.
Max Amount and Period: $75,000 for 1 year
Eligibility: Applicants must be current or former ACS grantees (including IRG pilot grant awardees) or former ACS postdoctoral fellows. Applicants must have a full-time faculty appointment and may be at any career stage. Applicant should be motivated to commercialize their technology.

RFP Snapshot: We are seeking novel cancer agents approaching preclinical and/or clinical development with supporting in vivo efficacy data. We will consider all technology areas, including small molecule, biological and other therapeutics.

RFP Snapshot: Young Investigator Accelerator Awards aim to attract early career faculty with original ideas into the field of colorectal cancer research, thereby recruiting and supporting the next generation of CRC research leaders. Awardees will be provided funding to accomplish innovative and original, preclinical, translational, and/or early clinical research projects.

RFP Snapshot: The Team Science Accelerator Award will support team science, including public-private partnerships, that will accelerate CRC research to curative science. Research proposals will be considered that accelerate new therapeutic and technology innovations from bench to bedside and address unmet clinical needs.

Eligibility: Principal Investigator of a Team Accelerator Award proposal must be a senior investigator with more than five years of active research in colorectal cancer. RFP Snapshot: Senior Investigator Accelerator Awards will fund potentially transformative ideas that will accelerate the translation of new therapies and technologies to the bedside by the end of the proposed research. Collaborations are highly encouraged.

RFP Snapshot: Pioneering Ideas: Exploring the Future to Build a Culture of Health welcomes proposals that are primed to influence health equity in the future. We seek ideas that address any of RWJF’s Pioneering Ideas for an Equitable Future team’s four current areas of focus described below: 1) Future of Evidence; 2) Future of Social Interaction; 3) Future of Food; and 4) Future of Work. Additionally, under Open Exploration, also described below, this call for proposals seeks ideas that might fall outside of these four focus areas but which offer unique approaches to advancing health equity and our progress toward a Culture of Health.
Max Amount and Period: No limit for 3 years, but budget must be reasonably supported by scope of project.

RFP Snapshot: This award, supported by Dornier MedTech, supports established urology researchers navigating critical financial shortages. Its goal is simple but impactful: to sustain urologic researchers who are at risk due to gaps between major grants, required post-peer review revisions, or unexpected laboratory setbacks. Proposals should be focused on research at the preclinical research stage or later, i.e. candidate targets and/or interventions should already have been identified. The project must aim to deliver interventions to patients in a clinical research study within 18-24 months of the project start.
Max Amount and Period: $60,000
Eligibility: Applicants must be independently managing their research projects, even if based within a larger laboratory. Early career investigators are eligible only if they are no longer under formal mentorship, such as transitioning to an R-level award. This ensures the funds go to those who are actively involved in sustained, independent research but need a timely boost to stay competitive.

RFP Snapshot: The CureSearch for Children’s Cancer Acceleration Initiative (AI) advances pediatric cancer research worldwide to address the most challenging problems facing childhood cancer research in order to accelerate progress in the field toward a cure. CureSearch will review and fund promising research that addresses barriers in areas of high unmet need in pediatric cancer research. We support innovative, evidence-based translational and preclinical cancer research that has a high potential to improve therapeutic options through research pathways that are collaborative, interdisciplinary, and generate measurable results.
Max Amount and Period: $1M over 3 years
Eligibility: Applicants must be an MD, PhD, DO, or equivalent and be an independent investigators at any level of their career. For applicants seeking support of $500,000 or greater, a minimum committed effort of 10% from the PI is required.

RFP Snapshot: This two-year award is funded by the Foundation for Peripheral Neuropathy and supports clinical or preclinical research in peripheral neuropathy. This grant targets early career researchers who are studying disease mechanisms, diagnosis, or treatment of peripheral neuropathy and whose research has potential relevance beyond peripheral neuropathy to other diseases.
Max Amount and Period: $150,000 over 2 years
Eligibility: Applicants must be research investigators with an MD, PhD, or equivalent terminal-level clinical or research degree. Applicants must have completed clinical residency or PhD on or after July 1, 2022. Applicants at accredited US and international institutions are eligible to apply. RFP Snapshot: The Conquer Cancer Career Development Award (CDA) provides funding to clinical investigators who have received their initial faculty appointment and are establishing an independent research career in clinical oncology. This is a mentored award, and the research project is conducted under the guidance of an experienced mentor in the proposed research area. For this year, there will be dedicated donor funding available for projects in Palliative/Supportive Care and Breast Cancer.
Max Amount and Period: $200,000 over 3 years
Eligibility: A physician (MD, DO, or international equivalent with explanation) working in any country. In the first to fourth year of a full-time primary faculty appointment in a clinical department at an academic medical institution at the time of grant submission. Faculty appointment may begin with the entry-level faculty position within the applicant’s institution. Have completed productive postdoctoral research and demonstrated the ability to undertake independent investigator-initiated clinical research. Be a current ASCO member or have submitted a membership application with the grant application. 50% of time to research. Applicants with concurrent federal career development awards (e.g., K23, K08, or any other type of career development award), career development awards from private foundations, and institutional training grants (T32, KL2/K12 or equivalent) are eligible to apply provided there are no scientific and budgetary overlaps. RFP Snapshot: The intent of this RFP is to request proposals for the implementation of strategies that will support and measurably improve equitable delivery of guideline concordant care for patients with HER2+ GEA in the United States, including the administration of HER2 directed therapy as part of first line treatment. Proposals should describe the application of quality improvement standards to evaluate current adherence to treatment guidelines, evaluation of guideline-discordant care and measures to improve guideline-concordant care for patients with advanced HER2+ GEA.

early- to mid-stage independent investigators. This is not a project grant. Salary support is given to assist the Scholar in all their research activities. As such, all research activities of a funded Scholar are supported by the Scholar award. We ask for a description of your overall research program as part of your application, which aids in the evaluation process of your overall application package. However, any funded Scholar’s research is supported by the Scholar award, even if it is not directly related to the projects described in the original
application.

Eligibility: Applicants must be tenure-track, independent investigators holding at least an Assistant Professor position or equivalent. RFP Snapshot: The Scholar in Clinical Research award is a subcategory of CDP that exists to support the career development of early- to mid-stage independent investigators. This is not a project grant. Salary support is given to assist the Scholar in Clinical Research in all their research activities. As such, all research activities of a funded Scholar in Clinical Research are supported by the Scholar in Clinical Research award. We ask for a description of your overall research program as part of your application, which aids in the evaluation process of your overall application package. However, any funded research from a Scholar in Clinical Research
is supported by the Scholar in Clinical Research award, even if it is not directly related to the projects described in the original application.

RFP Snapshot: The Innovation Grant is designed to provide critical and significant seed funding for established researchers with a novel approach to pediatric oncology scientific investigation. Proposals should have clinical translation in view. This may represent a change in research direction and/or an innovative new idea that moves away from an investigator’s prior research but for which a strong case is made for the potential impact on childhood cancers.
Max Amount and Period: $250,000 over 2 years
Eligibility: Applicants may be MD, PhD, or MD/PhD and be appointed as faculty. They must have a track record of publication with at least one publication as a Senior Corresponding Author and funding productivity that demonstrates the project can be accomplished by the investigators. Must have at least one NIH R01 equivalent award in their career. Applicants must propose a ne research direction, not a continuation of ongoing funded research.

RFP Snapshot: The Translational Research Program (TRP) was formed to enhance the transfer of basic research findings to clinical usefulness. The TRP Grant program is geared towards translational medicine for blood cancers. For this cycle, the sponsor will ONLY consider applications that adhere to the following guidelines:
• For small molecule compounds, the application must have in vivo proof of concept (POC) in appropriate mouse models. Alternatively, based on the mechanism of action, an in vitro POC with patient-derived samples may be considered.
• For cellular or immunotherapies, in vivo POC would make for a stronger application. We acknowledge, however, that depending on the type of therapy being developed, an in vitro POC may be more appropriate or necessary.

RFP Snapshot: To promote the establishment of a new generation of basic and translational scientists interested in tackling inherited hematologic malignancy predisposition disorders with a focus on RUNX1-familial platelet disorder. We believe that providing capital to early career investigators not only injects funding to where it is needed most, but also cultivates a new cohort of investigators who will be invested in an area of research that historically has had limited attention.
Max Amount and Period: $180,000 over 3 years
Eligibility: Applicant institutions may be based in the U.S. or outside of the U.S. Applicants need not be United States citizens. Funds must be granted to non-profit institutions or organizations. Applicants must have an MD, PhD, or MD/PhD (DO, MBBS, or equivalent) and be within five years of their first faculty appointment as an Assistant Professor or equivalent tenure-track position. Associate and Full Professors are ineligible. If at the Instructor level, the applicant must submit a letter of support from their mentor at the sponsoring institution. A minimum of 75% of the applicant’s time during the award period must be allocated as protected time for all research activities. This percentage of time includes both activities on this grant and the applicant’s other research responsibilities. Applicants may have research grants from other funding sources during the award period, but there must be clear documentation of mechanisms to avoid scientific and budgetary overlap. Applicants must have research experience working in, and a deep understanding of, normal or malignant hematopoiesis and/or immunology.

RFP Snapshot: The ASH Clinical Research Training Institute (CRTI) is a unique, year-long education and mentoring program for hematology fellows and junior faculty at academic medical centers. CRTI offers a broad education on clinical research methods, research collaborations, statistical analysis, and managing the demands of family and career. The goal of the program is to produce leaders armed with ideas for clinical hematology research and the tools and resources to make their ideas a reality.
Max Amount and Period: ASH will cover participants’ travel and hotel expenses to attend summer workshop and spring meeting.

Eligibility: The applicant must have an MD, PhD, or MD/PhD and hold a tenure-track posiion. Assistant professors with a minimum of 3 years in that role and associate professors with a maximum 3 years may apply.
