The Family Focused Community is focused on providing early career faculty with small/young children applicable support, guidance, and mentorship in navigating education, academia, and career trajectories.
Faculty and postdoctoral trainees in cancer research and cancer disparities research are welcome to participate in this group.

Leadership
Carl DeSelm, MD, PhD
Dr. Carl DeSelm is an Assistant Professor of Radiation Oncology. He received his MD and PhD degrees from Washington University in 2012. Currently, Dr. DeSelm clinically focuses on treating lymphoma, and is actively developing novel CAR T cell approaches to treating solid tumors, including lymphoma, pancreatic cancer and glioblastoma. Dr. DeSelm is also a member of the Siteman Emerging Leaders Council.
Emily Podany, MD
Dr. Emily Podany is a fellow in the Department of Medicine, Hematology-Oncology Fellowship Program and serves as the Wellness Leader for the program. Dr. Podany’s research interests include breast cancer, quality improvement, and reducing health disparities through cancer screenings.
